Control v Flow: Are You Suffocating Life?

Updated: Dec 21, 2018

Hey Sister,

I see you. I feel your energy. I feel your strength. I feel your insecurity. And it's okay. I am not here to judge. I am walking with you. I am here to show you another way. I would like to bring to your attention what changed my own life. I call it The Surrender Experience.

Let me start by saying, I had no intention of focusing so heavily on this topic in my life, but I find it fascinating. I spent years of my life hustling hard. I looked up to people like Gary Vee and Steve Jobs who did everything in their power to make shit happen in life. I scheduled my life in 15 minute time slots and spent my free time studying productivity hacks. There was a period in my life where I felt I could fit more into one day than some people fit into a week. To say the least, I was accomplishing a lot. By the time I was 20, I had run two successful sales organizations and was one of the top offices in the company, I was an athlete who started the gymnastics team at my university and in the first year took the team to nationals, & I was the president of a few other organizations. But, I also found myself constantly prioritizing information over connection. I had a great group of friends and I sure had fun, but my intention and focus was always on a goal. I was also out of touch with myself. Who I was outside of the mind. Who I was on a soul level. I knew everything about my mind, what I enjoyed doing, what made me happy, what I was great at, etc. Information wise, I was on point. Connection wise, I was lacking. I viewed emotions as unimportant and distractions. And therefore lacked trust with myself.

I took a month and did a surrender experiment that caused me to quit my job and dive into the unknown. It turned into a massive journey to say the least. I'm not saying the yin energy will cause you to give up everything in life and become a monk, but I will warn you that diving into this will cause you to question yourself, your beliefs, your values, and how you view success. It will raise your consciousness and force you to look at which parts of you are serving you and which parts are out of alignment with what your soul actually cares about and desires. I stopped trying to control everything in my life. I stopped with the 15 minute scheduling, the 10 year plans, the T charts to make decisions. I surrendered to the universal flow of life.

I fell in love with this part of myself. I fell in love with the shadow side that I was hiding.

Sister, I want to encourage you to open yourself up to this energy. I know success is important. I know that you want to have a great career. I know that you want to feel like you are doing something massive in this world. We all do. But I encourage you to dive into your soul and ask yourself HOW you want to do this. Is your current approach the approach you desire to take? Are you truly fulfilled? Are you operating out of a lack and out of a need or out of passion and inspired action? We all have access to this energy, but it is a choice. We can choose to see it as weak and unsuccessful or we can choose to see it as powerful and manifesting. Open yourself up to a new possibility, to a new reality, to a new version of you. Allow the universe to direct your action, lose your tight grip on life. Experience infinite possibility.

I am creating an experience called The Surrender Experience that will guide you into experiencing this energy. It will take you into the depths of the unknown parts of yourself and bring you out the other side stronger than you could have imagined.
